At The Braid Lounge, we are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and experienced Salon Manager to join our leadership team. This individual will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our modern African salon, ensuring that our team delivers exceptional service to our clients.

 

We’re looking for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent people management skills, and can foster a positive and collaborative work atmosphere. The ideal candidate will be proactive in maintaining operational excellence, ensuring a seamless customer experience, and driving the overall success of the salon.

 

This position requires a strategic thinker who can balance day-to-day operational tasks with long-term planning and growth. You will oversee staff scheduling, manage front desk operations, maintain inventory oversight, collaborate on marketing initiatives, and ensure the salon meets its financial and customer service goals. Most importantly, you’ll embody and promote the welcoming, professional environment we strive to provide for both our team and our clients.

Key Responsibilities Summary:

  • Staff Supervision & Management: Recruit, train, and supervise non-braiding staff; manage braider schedules; conduct performance evaluations and foster a positive work environment.
  • Customer Service: Maintain high standards of service, address client concerns, and build strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and achieve pre-booking targets.
  • Inventory Oversight: Oversee inventory in coordination with the Inventory Manager to ensure proper stock levels of products and supplies.
  • Marketing & Promotion: Collaborate on marketing efforts, assist with social media content creation, and promote salon services through various channels.
  • Financial Management: Ensure accurate financial transactions, manage payroll, and monitor the salon’s financial performance.
  • Operational Efficiency: Maintain a clean and safe salon environment, ensure equipment is in good working order, and enforce policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in salon management or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on employee development.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with salon software for scheduling, inventory, and financial tracking.
  • Marketing experience, particularly with social media promotion, is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
